NOW Private Label, the contract manufacturing division of the natural products brand, will showcase its services. Brands using NOW Private Label can offer their customers the same range of products as the NOW line under their own brand.
“When choosing a private label supplier, it’s important to make sure the products are high enough quality to carry your brand’s name, and ask challenging questions about ingredient sourcing, testing, and track record of GMP compliance,” said Dan Richard, NOW Health Group VP of Global Sales and Marketing. “Each step in NOW’s manufacturing process follows strict procedures overseen by an experienced, highly trained team.”
NOW’s manufacturing facilities in Illinois and Nevada feature thorough quality assurance and control systems nad processes and are GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)-certified, and “A-Rated” by the Natural Products Association. NOW conducts more than 31,000 quality tests each month; incoming raw materials and ingredients are tested for identity, purity, potency, and composition. Not all manufacturers test the finished products, but NOW Private Label does.
NOW’s in-house laboratories recently expanded the scope of its ISO 17025 accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) in both the chemical and biological fields. The accreditation process involved a thorough assessment and review of the lab’s quality management system and competence. For the last four years, NOW has maintained accreditation for eight of its more than 200 analytical chemistry methods, including a method for screening over 400 pesticides in their botanical raw materials, as well as the arsenic speciation method that most contract labs do not have the capability to offer. Currently, the NOW labs have 14 accredited chemistry methods, including quantitative allergen testing methods, as well as the ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) method. The microbiology lab also expanded its ISO scope from six to 12 methods this year, including the addition of the Sparks, Nevada lab, to the accreditation. The biological testing scope includes cutting-edge PCR technologies, which are utilized for pathogen detection and play a crucial role in the microbiological safety of NOW products.
